TEXAS HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

Reference is made to the letter of April 23, 1971, from Mayor
J. C. Sloan of Georgetown and to your conversation with Super-
vising Resident Engineer Frank Faris concerning the tentatively
agreed dividing line between Round Rock and Georgetown.
In accordance with the request of Mayor Sloan, we have submitted
a revised petition to them. This petition extends the Georgetown
City Limits to southward along I.H. 35 to the center of the Rabbit
Hill Grade Separation Bridge. As suggested in Mayor Sloan's letter,
I am attaching a petition containing the necessary field notes to
extend the City Limits of Round Rock approximately 0.25 mile north-
ward along I.H. 35 to the center of the above mentioned grade
separation bridge.
If your Council sees fit to act favorably on this petition, I
would appreciate your advising us when the annexation is complete,
in order that proper signing may be accomplished and our records
corrected.

Dear Mr. Owens:
Your letter of April 1, 1971, addressed to me was a petition to the
City of Georgetown, Texas, requesting annexation of approximately
0.84 miles of your right -of -way extending south on I.H. 35 from our
present city limits. We have not acted on your petition because we
were in discussions with Round Rock officials in an effort to agree
upon a particular point on 1.H. 35 where the city limits for both
Georgetown and Round Rock would coincide.
We are happy to report that we have now reached a tentative arrange-
ment with the Round Rock folks, and I an sure they will confirm with
you that we would appreciate having you petition both Round Rock and
Georgetown to extend their city limits one more time. The dividing
line is to be the center of the Rabbit Hill Road Crossover Bridge.
Using the map you had sent to me, I would estimate this would require
annexation of about 0.6 miles for our town, and approximately 0.2 miles
more for Round Rock. Please note the line drawn across the I.H. on
the enclosed map.
Should you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you very much
for your help and cooperation.
