O-79-633 - 12/13/1979THAT ORDINANCE NO. to 33 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING WATER LINE REQUIREMENTS IN CHAPTER 8, SECTION 6 - (1) OF THE CODE OF ORDI- NANCES OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, Chapter 8, Section 6 -J (1) of the Code of Ordinances, City of Round Rock is hereby amended to read as follows: 1. Water Lines Piping for water mains and connections shall be cast iron, or asbestos - cement, Class 200, either mechan- ical joints or single rubber gasket joint or plastic as approved by the Building Official. Service piping shall be copper or plastic as approved by the City Engineer. The pipe and accessories shall be new and unused. (a) The following are the minimum sizes of lines that shall be used: Dwelling Units Minimum Line Size 1 3/4" 2 - 6 2" 7 - 11 4" 12 - 75 6" More than 75 8" (b) Where the size of the water lines required to meet the ultimate requirements for the City is larger than eight inches (8 ") and the total capacity is not required to serve the tract of land to be developed, the City may enter into a contract with the owner, developer, or entity constructing the lines for reim- bursement for the excess capacity as other users request and are granted service. The developer or entity requesting service from an existing line shall pay a utility extension fee on a pro -rata basis, as hereinafter set forth. The reimbursement to the owner, developer, or entity who paid for the line construction shall be made only from those utility extension fees paid to the City by users of the facility paid for by the said owner, developer, or entity. (c) The pro -rata basis for the utility extension fee shall be computed based upon the projected capacity in terms of dwelling units as specified by the engi- neering criteria approved by the City Engineer. The basis for cost shall be the actual total cost of the facility which shall include, but shall not be lim- ited to, construction costs, engineering costs and inspection cost. The total cost shall be divided by the projected capacity of dwelling units, to deter- mine the base utility extension fee. The base utility extension fee as determined above shall be increased at the rate of five percent (5 %) per annum from the date the lines are accepted by the City. Section 1. Savings Clause The invalidity of any section or provision of this ordinance shall not invalidate other sections or provisions thereof. Section 2 Re.ealin• Conflictin• Ordinances All ordinances, parts of ordinances, or resolutions in conflict herewith are expressly repealed.
