O-83-815 - 6/9/1983ORDINANCE NO. or/S AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 6.277 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS. WHEREAS, in accordance with Art. 970a, V.A.T.S., two public hearings were held before the City Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas, where all interested persons were provided an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexa- tion of the property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, and WHEREAS, one of the public hearings was held within the area proposed to be annexed, on the 12th day of May 19 83 , and the other public hearing was held in the Council Chambers on the 12th day of May , 19 83 ; which hearing dates were not more than forty (40) days nor less than twenty (20) days prior to institution of annexation proceedings, and WHEREAS, notice of both public hearings was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Round Rock, Texas, on the 28th day of April , 19 83 , which date is not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to each hearing, and WHEREAS, the planning department has prepared a service plan that provides for the extension of municipal services into the territory to be annexed, and WHEREAS, the territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the present boundaries of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and WHEREAS, all requirements of the laws of the State of Texas and the Home Rule Charter of the City of Round Rock have been complied with, and WHEREAS, the territory above described contains 6'277 acres; now therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: Section 1. The land and territory, described in Exhibit "A ", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, lying adjacent to and adjoining the present boundaries of the City of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Round Rock, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and the present boundary limits of such city, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Round Rock, Texas. Section 2. The above described territory and the area so annexed shall be a part of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and the inhabitants thereof, if any, shall be entitled to all of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of the City of Round Rock, Texas. Section 3. The service plan providing for the extension of municipal services into the territory to be annexed is attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and such plan is hereby adopted and approved.
