AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION
OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 113 ACRES OF LAND,
WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT
BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Art. 970a, V.A.T.S., two public hearings
were held before the City Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas, where
all interested persons were provided an opportunity to be heard on the
proposed annexation of the property described in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and made a part hereof, and
WHEREAS, the first of the public hearings was held in the City Council
Chamber, on the 9 th day of October , 19 86 , and the second
public hearing was held in the Council Chambers on the 23rd day
of October , 1986 ; which hearing dates were not more than
forty (40) days nor less than twenty (20) days prior to institution of
annexation proceedings, and
WHEREAS, Notice of both public hearings was published in a newspaper
having general circulation in the City of Round Rock, Texas on the 22nd
day of September , 1986 , and on the 9th day of
October , 1986 , which date is not more than twenty (20) days
nor less than ten (10) days prior to each hearing, and
WHEREAS, the planning department has prepared a service plan that
provides for the extension of municipal services into the territory to be
annexed, and
WHEREAS, the territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the present
boundaries of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and
WHEREAS, all requirements of the laws of the State of Texas and the
Home Rule Charter of the City of Round Rock have been complied with, and
WHEREAS, the territory above described contains
now therefore,

Section 1. The land and territory, described in Exhibit
"A ", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, lying
adjacent to and adjoining the present boundaries of the City
of Round Rock, Texas. is hereby added and annexed to the City
of Round Rock, Texas, and said territory hereinafter
described shall hereafter be included within the boundary
limits of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and the present
boundary limits of such city, at the various points
contiguous to the area hereinafter described, are altered and
amended so as to include said area within the corporate
limits of the City of Round Rock, Texas.
Section 2. The above described territory and the area so
annexed shall be a part of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and
the inhabitants thereof, if any, shall be entitled to all of
the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be
bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations of
the City of Round Rock, Texas. •
Section 3. The service plan providing for the extension
of municipal services into the territory to be annexed is
attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and such plan is hereby
adopted and approved.

extension of municipal services into the territory to be
annexed in accordance with the following schedule:
1. Police protection - immediately upon annexation.
2. Fire protection - immediately upon annexation.
3. Solid waste collection - immediately upon annexation.
4. Maintenance of existing water and wastewater
facilities - immediately upon annexation.
5. Maintenance of existing public roads, streets
and street lighting - immediately upon annexation.
6. Maintenance of existing public parks, playgrounds,
and swimming pools - immediately upon annexation.
7. Maintenance of any existing publically owned
facility building or service within the
territory to be annexed - immediately upon
annexation.
8. Capital improvements sufficient for providing
municipal services for the subject tract are in
place such that the cost associated with the
extension of service lines to proposed building

ITEM: 11B - Consider an ordinance annexing a strip of land along
Gattis School Road.
This annexation was initiated in order to address important land use
considerations along Gattis School Road and to provide a contiguous
boundary as required by law for the voluntary annexation of the High
Country and Cross Trails developments currently under consideration.
The area to be annexed is proposed to be zoned as Interim District SF -1
(Large Lot - Single Family Residential) as provided in the City of
Round Rock Zoning Ordinance.

8 -15 -86 Take 1st public notice of 1st annexation public hearing to Round Rock Leader.
10 -7 -86 Take 2nd public notice of 2nd annexation public hearing to Round Rock Leader.
B. ORIGINAL ZONING PROCEDURES
10 -23 -86 Take public notice to Leader announcing:
1) A public hearing before the Planning and Zoning Commission on original zoning
for the territory proposed for annexation (set for Thursday, 11 -6 -86 ).
2) A second such public hearing before the City Council (set for Thursday,
11 -13 -86
10 -22 -86 Publication date for above zoning public hearing notice (10 days for P &Z and 15
for City Council).
11 -6 -86 Planning and Zoning Commission public hearing and recommendation on zoning.
C. FINAL ANNEXATION AND ORIGINAL ZONING PROCEDURES
11 -13 -86 The City Council conducts the following business:
1) The City Council holds zoning public hearing on proposed annexation.
2) The City Council adopts an ordinance annexing the territory (20 -40 days
between public hearing and ordinance).
3) The City Council adopts an ordinance zoning the annexed territory.
