WHEREAS, in accordance with Art. 970a, V.A.T.S., two public hearings were held before the City Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas, where all interested persons were provided an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, and WHEREAS, the first public hearing was held in the Council Chamber on the 4th day of November, 1987, and the second public hearing was held in the Council Chamber on the 12th day of November, 1987; which hearing dates were not more than forty (40) days nor less than twenty (20) days prior to institution of annexation proceedings, and WHEREAS, notice of the public hearings were published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Round Rock, Texas, on the 22nd day of October, 1987, and the 26th day of October, 1987, which dates are not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to each hearing, and WHEREAS, the planning department has prepared a service plan that provides for the extension of municipal services into the territory to be annexed, and WHEREAS, the territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the present boundaries of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and WHEREAS, all requirements of the laws of the State of Texas and the Home Rule Charter of the City of Round Rock have been complied with, and WHEREAS, the territory above described contains 47.46 acres; now therefore, —3- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: Section 1. (First Reading) STAFF PERSON: Joe Vining RECOMMENDATION: Approval of Annexation Ordinance. The attached ordinance provides for the annexation of the Deepwood Tract. This was part of the 1987 Annexation Plan. A map and area description are attached for your information. ECONOMIC IMPACT: The fiscal analysis is attached to the Ordinance as Exhibit "B ".
