Annexation Title
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN
BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
AND THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING
OF 8.9 ACRES OF LAND, WHICH SAID TERRITORY
LIES ADJACENT TO AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY
LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS.
WHEREAS, in accordance with Art. 970a, V.A.T.S., two
public hearings were held before the City Council of the City
of Round Rock, Texas, where all interested persons were
provided an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation
of the property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto
and made a part hereof, and
WHEREAS, the first public hearing was held in the Council
Chamber on the 4th day of November, 1987, and the second public
hearing was held in the Council Chamber on the 12th day of
November, 1987; which hearing dates were not more than forty
(40) days nor less than twenty (20) days prior to institution
of annexation proceedings, and
WHEREAS, notice of the public hearings were published in
a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Round
Rock, Texas, on the 22nd day of October, 1987, and the 26th
day of October, 1987, which dates are not more than twenty
(20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to each hearing, and
WHEREAS, the planning department has prepared a service
plan that provides for the extension of municipal services
into the territory to be annexed, and
WHEREAS, the territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the
present boundaries of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and
WHEREAS, all requirements of the laws of the State of
Texas and the Home Rule Charter of the City of Round Rock
have been complied with, and
WHEREAS, the territory above described contains 8.9
acres; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS:
Section 1. The land and territory, described in Exhibit
"A ", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, lying
adjacent to and adjoining the present boundaries of the City
of Round Rock, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City
of Round Rock, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described
shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the
City of Round Rock, Texas, and the present boundary limits of
such city, at the various points contiguous to the area
hereinafter described, are altered and amended so as to
include said area within the corporate limits of the City of
Round Rock, Texas.
Section 2. The above described territory and the area
so annexed shall be a part of the City of Round Rock, Texas,
and the inhabitants thereof, if any, shall be entitled to all
of the rights and privileges of all the citizens and shall be
bound by the acts, ordinances, resolutions and regulations
of the City of Round Rock, Texas.
Section 3. The service plan providing for the extension
of municipal services into the territory to be annexed is
attached hereto as Exhibit "B" and such plan is hereby adopted
and approved.

Alternative 1.
By motion duly made, seconded and passed with an affirmative
vote of all the Council members present, the requirement
for reading this ordinance on two separate days was dispensed

FISCAL ANALYSIS OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION

Tract Acreage: 37.20
Type of Annexation: _ area X corridor
1.) Police protection: provided immediately uoon annexation.
No additional staff required to serve existing development.
2.) Fire protection: provided immediately upon annexation. No
additional staff requi -red to serve existing development.
3.) Solid waste collection: current private contractor
responsible for expansion of service.
4.) Water /wastewater facilities maintenance: all costs covered
by normally budgeted city -wide maintenance funds.
5.) Roadway maintenance: all costs covered by normally budgeted
city -wide maintenance funds.
6.) Park facilities maintenance: Not Applicable
7.) Public buildings maintenance: Not Applicable
8.) Capital improvements: Sewer service is presently available.
There appears to be sufficient capacity to accomodate
existing development in this area.
Water service is presently available along RR 620 from a 14
inch main. There is sufficient capacity to accomodate
projected development in the area.
Sewer and water service will be extended by the developers
of the land in the area through the subdivision process in
accordance with Article 974a, Section 8 of Vernon's Civil
Statutes of the State of Texas.

RR 620 Right -Of -Way
Description of 8.9 acres more or less out of the J. M.
Harrell Survey, A -289, located in Williamson County, Texas,
said acres being a stretch of RR 620 right -of -way.
Beginning at the northeast corner of the J. M. Harrell
Survey,
Thence S 71 W, 5064 feet,
Thence S 19 E, 2403 feet to an iron pin found and shown
as the northwest corner of Deepwood Drive as recorded on
the Deepwood Plaza Right -Of -Way plat recorded in Cabinet
D, Slide 246 of the Plat Records of said County, said
iron pin also being in current Round Rock corporate limits,
Thence westward from said current corporate limits, along
and including only the existing RR 620 right -of -way for
a distance of approximately 3240 feet to a line even with
the western property line of the Lifemark Hospital as
recorded in Volume 871, Page 888 of said deed records, and
being the 8.9 acres more or less of right -of -way.

Purpose of Annexation
The 1987 Plan includes this portion of RR 620 to extend traffic
control on this section of Highway together with City zoning and
building regulations on adjacent property. This extends our
city limits to our ETJ line along RR 620.

The tract is presently vacant and should receive interim zoning.
