VOL 1953PA6E295 WHEREAS, in accordance with Art. 970a, V.A.T.S., two public hearings were held before the City Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas, where all interested persons were provided an opportunity to be heard on the proposed annexation of the property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof, and WHEREAS, the first of the public hearings was held in the City Council Chamber, on the 10th day of November 19 88 , and the second public hearing was held in the Council Chambers on the 17th day of November , 19 88 which hearing dates were not more than forty (40) days nor less than twenty (20) days prior to institution of annexation proceedings, and WHEREAS, Notice of both public hearings was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Round Rock, Texas on the24 &31 day of October , 19 88 , which date is not more than twenty (20) days nor less than ten (10) days prior to each hearing, and WHEREAS, the Planning Department has prepared a service plan that provides for the extension of municipal services into the territory to be annexed, and WHEREAS, the territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the present boundaries of the City of Round Rock, Texas, and WHEREAS, all requirements of the laws of the State of Texas and the Home Rule Charter of the City of Round Rock have been compiled with, and WHEREAS, the territory above described contains 27.595 acres, now therefore, OL1953PACE 1325 /SELLSTROM Annexation Title BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS: Section 1. (First Reading) STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Joe Vining STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval. This anenxation will add 27.595 acres to the City. This consists of FM 1325 right of way from IH -35 west to the Austin City Limits. It also includes the Sellstrom Tract and Bratton Cemetery. This will assist in eliminating confusion over jurisdiction for Fire and Police services. It also simplifies rules for trucks operating between Round Rock and Austin. This extends our City Limits to our ETJ boundary in this area. The portion of the 1988 Annexation Plan covering this tract is attached. ECONOMIC IMPACT: The servicing plan for this annexation is attached.
