ATTEST: JOANNE LAND, City Secretary 4 CHARLES CULPEPPER, Mayor City of Round Rock, Texas Staff Recommendation: Approval r Date: June 25,1996 Subject: City Council Meeting June 27,1996 Item: 9.A. Consider an ordinance to amend the City of Round Rock Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition) to provide standards for mini- warehouses. (Second Reading) Staff Resource Person: Joe Vining /Hugh Bender This amendment includes the following major revisions: 1. Mini - warehouse has been completely deleted from the C -1 General Commercial District. 2. Mini - warehouse has instead been expressly authorized in the I -1 General Industrial District. 3. In addition, special development standards have been established for mini- warehouse development that occurs at I -1 (Industrial) locations along Designated Arterial Roadways. This proposal was presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission on June 5,1996 and received unanimous recommendation. The Commission has also recommended that signage now allowed freely (without a permit) be restricted on building walls. After review by legal staff, our recommendation is to amend the sign ordinance to affect this change.
