R-2023-039 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the Bowman Park Improvements Project; and WHEREAS, DigDug Construction, LLC has submitted the lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of DigDug Construction, LLC, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with DigDug Construction, LLC for the Bowman Park Improvements Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551,Texas Government Code, as amended. A total of two(2)bid proposals were submitted, with the lowest total bid submitted by Dig Dug Construction in the amount of$393,031.04. The total base bid,which includes extension of the existing trail, replacement of site amenities(benches and trashcans),grass practice field and a new vehicular gate was $306,544.00. The total for the Alternate Bid,which includes custom quarry block fencing, landscape irrigation, and gravel installation was$86,487.04. Based upon my review of the Bid Form and analysis of the funding available, I recommend the City of Round Rock accept the Base Bid as submitted by Dig Dug Construction in the total of$306,544.00 as the best value for the City. If additional information is required,please advise.
