R-2023-168 - 5/17/2023 RESOLUTION NO.2023-168 RESOLUTION CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS OF BOND ELECTION WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas (the "City") ordered an election to be held in the City on May 6, 2023, on the PROPOSITIONS hereinafter stated; and WHEREAS, the City Council has investigated all matters pertaining to the election, including the ordering, giving notice, officers,holding, and making returns of the election-, and WHEREAS,the election officers who held the election have duly made the returns of the result thereof, and the returns have been duly delivered to this City Council. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,TEXAS: I. The City Council officially finds and determines that the election was duly ordered, that proper notice of the election was duly given,that proper election officers were duly appointed prior to the election, that the election was duly held, that the City has complied with the Federal Voting Rights Act and the Texas Election Code,that due returns of the result of the election have been made and delivered,and that the City Council has duly canvassed the returns,all in accordance w ith law and the Resolution calling the election. 2. The City Council officially finds and detennines that the following votes were cast at the election on the submitted PROPOSITIONS by the resident,qualified electors of said City,who voted at said election. The aforesaid bonds described in PROPOSITION A and PROPOSITION B which were each approved by the voters at the election may be issued,, and the taxes for such bonds may be levied, assessed and collected annually, as voted and as provided by law. A true,full and correct copy of the Resolution passed at the Meeting described in the above and foregoing paragraph is attached to and follows this Certificate, that the Resolution has been duly recorded in the City Council's minutes of the Meeting; that the above and foregoing paragraph is a true, full and correct excerpt from the City Council's minutes of the Meeting pertaining to the passage of the Resolution; that the persons named in the above and foregoing paragraph are the duly chosen, qualified and acting officers and members of the City Council as indicated therein; that each of the officers and members of the City Council was duly and sufficiently notified officially and personally, in advance, of the time, place and purpose of the Meeting, and that the Resolution would be introduced and considered for passage at the Meeting, and each of the officers and members consented, in advance,to the holding of the Meeting for such purpose, and that the Meeting was open to the public and public notice of the time, place and 0 purpose of the meeting was given, all as required by Chapter 55 1, Texas Government Code, as amended.
