R-2024-036 - 2/22/2024 RESOLUTION NO. R-2024-036 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for the 2021 CDBG Chisholm Valley Sidewalks, Phase II Project("Project"); and WHEREAS, the apparent low bidder on this Project, G2 Company LLC, was rejected due to an incomplete bid package; and WHEREAS, DigDug Construction, LLC submitted the second lowest responsible bid; and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of DigDug Construction, LLC, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with DigDug Construction, LLC for the 2021 CDBG Chisholm Valley Sidewalks, Phase II Project. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Sandre January 19, 2024 Gary Hudder Director of Transportation City of Round Rock 3400 Sunrise Road Round Rock, TX 78665 Re: 2021 CDBG Chisholm Valley Sidewalks, Phase II Engineer's Recommendation of Award of Contract A total of 6 sealed bids were received and opened on January 16, 2024 for the above referenced project. The bids ranged from $331,753.50 to $552,479. G2 Company from Austin, TX submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $331,753.50. However, their bid package did not contain some of the required information. As a result, the bid package from G2 Company was rejected for being incomplete. The second lowest bid in the amount of$343,382.25 was submitted by Dig Dug Construction from Austin, TX. After reviewing the contractor's experience and bid price, I recommend award of this project to Dig Dug Construction in the amount of$343,382.25. Sincerely, Matt Bushak, P.E.
