Re: Proposal for Additional Services
For switch from Natural Gas to Propane and switch from Acuity to Cooper interior
lighting and controls
Round Rock Fire Station No. 10
4400 E Old Settlers Blvd
Round Rock, Texas 78665
Dear Mr. Will,
As requested, McKinney York Architects presents for your consideration the following
proposal to design a propane gas system instead of pursuing the design of natural gas and
revising the interior lighting and controls from distributed Acuity to integrate Cooper
originally within the project scope. The reason(s) for the Additional Services is/are the owner
elected to pursue the implementation of an onsite propane tank to service the building
instead of natural gas after receiving the estimate for the cost of extending the natural gas
line to the project site and the owner would like to implement the new city building standards
for lighting and controls.
In accordance with our Agreement dated June 27, 2024, and pursuant to § 1.1.2.4. C, we are
requesting approval for Additional Services necessitated by "substantive changes in Project
Scope, [or] additional work necessitated by unknown or reasonably unforeseen
circumstances." Revising from natural gas to propane and reselecting lighting and controls
was not included as part of the original project scope as described in §1.1.2.3 of our
Agreement and documented in the 'Notice to Proceed' at the Design Phase.
