A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING
THE CITY TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE
CRIME PREVENTION AUTHORITY FOR THE 2025-2026 CATALYTIC
CONVERTER GRANT PROGRAM; MAKING FINDINGS; AND PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock("City") finds it in the best interest of the citizens
of the City that the City submit a grant application for the SB 224 Catalytic Converter Grant
Program to be funded by the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program
for the 2025-2026 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 1005 and
Texas Administrative Code Title 43; Part 3; chapter 57, entities are eligible to receive grants
from the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority to provide financial support to law
enforcement task forces and agencies for economic motor vehicle theft, including catalytic
converter theft; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to provide applicable matching funds for said project as
required by the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority grant application; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees that in the event of the loss or misuse of the grant funds,
the City agrees and assures that the funds will be returned to the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime
Prevention Authority in full; and
WHEREAS, the City designates the Budget Officer and Grants Administrator as the
Authorized Official to apply for, accept, reject, alter, or terminate the grant application for the
Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program and all other necessary
documents to accept said grant on behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City designates that Brooks Bennett is the designated Program
Director and Kevin Klosterboer is the designated Financial Officer for this grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, THAT:

SECTION 1
The findings set forth above are incorporated into the body of this Resolution as if
fully set forth herein.
SECTION 2
The City Council of the City of Round Rock does hereby approve the submission
of the grant application for the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority 2024 SB
224 Catalytic Converter Grant Program.
SECTION 3
This resolution shall be effective from and after its passage by the City Council.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and
subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter
hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings
Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.

This continuation grant enables the regional law enforcement investigation task force to continue its
efforts in investigating motor vehicle-related crimes occurring within the City and surrounding areas.
