Consider a resolution approving an amendment to the Transportation Capital Improvement Program (TCIP)to adjust funding for existing and proposed projects. Department: Transportation Services Staff Person: Tom Word, P.E., Chief of Public Works Operations Justification: Public testimony is required prior to considering the following amendments to the TCIP: a. Provide funding to reconstruct the traffic signal at US 79 and Sunrise Road in the amount of $220,000. b. Provide funding in the amount of$4,108,000 to construct the Main Street extension,from the IH-35 northbound frontage road to Harris Street. c. Provide funding in the amount of$9,100,273 for the realignment of Round Rock Avenue with Liberty Avenue;this project includes the connection of Blair Street, reconstruction of Main Street between Harris and Mays, and a traffic diverter at the intersection of Liberty Avenue and Burnett Street. d. Provide funding in the amount of$486,000 to acquire a portion of the right-of-way for the Arterial C (Deepwood extension). e. Provide funding in the amount of$392,000 for right-of-way reimbursement for Double Creek Drive. f. Reduce funding by$496,000 for the US 79 at North Mays intersection improvement project. Funding: Cost: $13,810,273.00 Source of funds: 4B-Round Rock Transportation System Development Corporation Outside Resources: N/A Background Information: The TCIP is a multi-year spending plan for improvements to major roads and arterials in the City. Funding for this plan is provided through the 1/2 cent sales tax established for the purpose of transportation system improvements that support economic development.
