TO CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES

PROJECT: Gattis School Road (Segment 2)
This Supplemental Contract No. 1 to Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between
the City of Round Rock,Texas,hereinafter called the"City"and Rodriguez Transportation Group,
Inc., hereinafter called the "Engineer."
WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter
called the "Contract," on the 27th day of April, 2023 for the Gattis School Road (Segment 2)
Project in the amount of$1,233,143.93; and
WHEREAS,it has become necessary to amend the Contract to modify the provisions for the scope
of services and to increase the compensation by $102,521.31 to a total of$1,335,665.24;
NOW THEREFORE,premises considered,the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract is
amended as follows:
I.
Article 2,Engineering Services and Exhibit B,Engineering Services shall be amended as set forth
in the attached Addendum to Exhibit B. Exhibit C, Work Schedule shall be amended as set forth
in the attached Addendum to Exhibit C.
II.
Article 4, Compensation and Exhibit D. Fee Schedule shall be amended by increasing by
$102,521.31 the lump sum amount payable under the Contract for a total of $1,335,665.24, as
shown by the attached Addendum to Exhibit D.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF,the City and the Engineer have executed this Supplemental Contract
in duplicate.

ADDENDUM TO EXHIBIT B
ENGINEERING SERVICES
Project Limits: 600' W. of Lawnmont Dr.to Windy Park Dr.
Project Length: 3,400' (0.64 Miles)
The additional Scope of Work to be performed by the Engineer under this Supplemental Contract
is described as follows:
• Prepare ROW exhibits to be used by Sheets & Crossfield to aid ROW acquisition
• Prepare ROW parcel exhibit for parcels to be transferred from City owned to ROW(Parcel
26)
• Gather additional SUE data needed for utility installations that have taken place after the
initial data collection effort.
• Collect survey data outside the original project limits to assist with the drainage and water
&wastewater design effort.
• Prepare additional utility plan and profile sheets for the redesign of the W & WW due to
the updated utility assignments.
• Re-design of the north storm drain trunk line to accommodate updated water&wastewater
utility assignments.
• Develop alternative north storm drain trunk line design that assumes two existing detention
ponds, serving apartment complexes along Lawnmont Dr.,will remain in place.
TASK DESCRIPTIONS AND FUNCTION CODES
The Engineer shall categorize each task performed to correspond with the Function Codes (FC)
and Task Descriptions.
FC 130—Right-of-Way Data/Utilities
All standards,procedures and equipment used by the Surveyor shall be such that the results of the
survey will be in accordance with Board Rule 663.1 S, as promulgated by the Texas Board of
Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
A. Boundary Surveying and Parcel Preparation. The Engineer shall perform the following
tasks to assist with the acquisition of the proposed ROW as identified in the Layout:
1. Prepare "before and after" ROW exhibits to assist Sheets & Crossfield with coordinating
with impacted property owners.
2. Prepare ROW parcel exhibit for parcels to be transferred from City owned to ROW(Parcel
26)

B. Subsurface Utility Engineering(SUE). The Engineer shall research available existing utility
records and perform in-field utility verification (Quality Level C and D)with the objective of
surveying and plotting visible above-ground utility features and using professional judgment
in correlating those findings with utility records within the project limits. The lateral limits of
the utility designating investigation are the greater extent of the existing ROW, proposed
ROW,or temporary construction easements along the project route. To accomplish this scope
of work,the Engineer will perform the following tasks:
1. In-field utility verification(Quality Level A): Gather data at 4 locations.
2. Utility verification (Quality Level C & D): Collect data along the corridor for "new"
utilities that have been installed after the initial SUE data collection effort was completed.
FC 140—Project Management and Administration
A. Prepare invoices and monthly written progress reports.
FC 150—Field Surveying and Photogrammetry
It shall be the responsibility of the Engineer to secure right of entry to private property for the
purpose of performing any surveying, environmental, engineering or geotechnical activities. The
Engineer shall not commit acts which will result in damages to private property and the Engineer
will make every effort to comply with the wishes and address the concerns of private property
owners.
A. Field Surveying.
The Engineer shall provide:
1. Additional field survey, to include manholes, inlets and two existing detention ponds,
outside the original project limits. Survey data will be used to assist with the drainage and
water&wastewater design effort.
2. Additional field survey to tie down SUE QL-A test hole data(20 test holes max.).
FC 161 —Drainage
A. Culvert and Storm Drain Design. The Engineer shall design all conventional storm drainage
and cross drainage in conformance with the latest edition of the City's Design and Construction
Standards unless otherwise directed in writing. Storm drain design shall be performed using
GEOPAK Drainage. Cross drainage design shall be performed using Geopak Drainage, HY 8

or HEC RAS. The Engineer shall continue with development of detailed plans. Effort will
include development and/or updates to the following:
1. Storm Drain Plan/Profile — Additional re-design of the north storm drain trunk line to
accommodate updated W & WW utility assignments.
2. Storm Drain Plan/Profile - Develop alternative north storm drain trunk line design that
assumes two existing detention ponds, serving apartment complexes along Lawnmont Dr.,
will remain in place.
FC 163—Miscellaneous
Miscellaneous tasks include: Retaining Wall Layouts, TCP, Water/Wastewater, Utility
coordination/Layouts, and the final assembly of the construction plans, specifications, estimate
and bid documents. The Engineer shall provide the following additional services:
A. Water/Wastewater
1. Construction Drawings — The Engineer will prepare additional utility plan and profile
sheets for the redesign of the W & WW due to the updated utility assignments.
Deliverable/Submittal Requirements
The Engineer will provide a pdf of submitted documents and native files (CADD files,
calculation spreadsheets, roadway and drainage models, etc.)to the city.
90% Submittal(PS&E)
The Engineer will provide the City with all required items, included four(4)paper copies and
one (1)pdf copy of the items below.
1. Updated Plans w/standards
2. Utility Layouts/Status
3. Updated Supporting Documents: Cost Estimate,Design Summary Form, Design Cross
Sections, Environmental Documents, Construction Timeline, General Notes, Special
Specification/Provisions, etc.
Final Submittal(PS&E)
The Engineer will provide the City with all required items, included four(4)paper copies and
one (1)pdf copy of the items below.
1. Final Plans w/standards
2. Final ROW Plan Set
3. Final Utility Layouts/Status
4. Final Supporting Documents: Cost Estimate,Design Summary Form, Design Cross
Sections,Environmental Documents, Construction Timeline, General Notes, Special
Specification/Provisions, Project Manual, Bid Forms,etc.
