A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE
MOTOR VEHICLE CRIME PREVENTION AUTHORITY FOR THE FY 2027
CATALYTIC CONVERTER GRANT PROGRAM; MAKING FINDINGS; AND
PROVIDING AND EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock ("City") finds it in the best interest of the citizens of the
City that the City submit a grant application for the SB 224 Catalytic Converter Grant Program to be
funded by the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program for the 2027 fiscal
year; and
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 1006 and Texas
Administrative Code Title 43; Part 3; chapter 57, entitles are eligible to receive grants from the Texas
Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority to provide financial support to law enforcement task forces
and agencies for economic motor vehicle theft, including catalytic converter theft; and
WHEREAS, this grant program will assist this jurisdiction to combat catalytic converter
thefts; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees to provide applicable matching funds for said project as required
by the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority grant application; and
WHEREAS, the City agrees that in the event of the loss or misuse of the grant funds, the City
agrees and assures that the funds will be returned to the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention
Authority in full; and
WHEREAS, the City designates the Police Chief, Allen J. Banks, as the Authorized
Official to apply for, accept, decline, alter, or terminate the grant application for the Texas Motor
Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program; and all other necessary documents to accept
said grant; and

WHEREAS, the City designates the Round Rock City Manager Brooks Bennett as the
designated Program Director and the Round Rock Chief Financial Officer Kevin Klosterboer is
the designated Financial Officer for this grant, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK,
TEXAS,THAT:
SECTION 1
The findings set forth above are incorporated into the body of this Resolution as if fully set forth
herein.
SECTION 2
The City Council of the City of Round Rock does hereby approve the submission of the grant
application for the Texas Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority SB 224 Catalytic Converter Grant
Program.
SECTION 3
This resolution shall be effective from and after its passage by the City Council.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and
subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was
open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter
hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act,
Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended.
