Re: Homecoming Parade 2000
Round Rock High School Homecoming parade plans are once again underway! The parade
is still a home town tradition that adds so much to the Homecoming Spirit. The Student Council would like
to propose the parade route to begin on Round Rock West Drive in front of Round Rock West Park.
From there it would procede to Lake Creek Drive then turn right followed by a quick left on to Dragon
Drive. From Dragon Drive the parade would turn left on Gladeview Drive and then right on to Lake Creek
Drive again. Then we would turn left on Deep Wood Drive and procede to Deep Wood Elementary,
leaving the floats in the various parking areas of the Deep Wood campus as well as along the south curb of
Saint Williams Avenue. A pep rally would be held in the field behind the school. See attached map.
A route in this neighborhood has been used before and was successful. Student Council
would notify all the residents along the route about the parade, it's date and time. We will ask that all
residents please not park on the street at that particular time of that day. We are also planning on limiting
the number of participants on each float and have a sufficient number of sponsors along the route. The
Homecoming Parade this year would be on Thursday, Oct. 12, at 5:30 p.m.. Please let us know of any
questions, concems or suggestions that you might have. The school's telephone number is 464 -6000.
Thank you for your imput and help.
Sincerely,
Round Rock Independent School District
Tyson Neal
Student Council Parade Chairman
