City of Round Rock, Texas
RECEIVED ,
NOTICE OF SOLICITATION OF NOMINATIONS FOR
MEMBERS OF BRAZOS G REGIONAL WATER PLANNING GROUP
REPRESENTING MUNICIPALITIES AND WATER DISTRICTS
The Brazos G Regional Water Planning Group is soliciting nominations from the public for
two voting members, one representing municipalities and one representing water
districts. The purpose of the Brazos G Regional Water Planning Group is to provide
comprehensive regional water planning and to carry out the related responsibilities placed on
regional water planning groups by State law, including Texas Water Code Chapter 16 and
Texas Water Development Board rules, including 31 Texas Administrative Code Chapters
355, 357, and 358, in and for the Brazos G Regional Water Planning Area. The regional
water plan will provide for the orderly development, management, and conservation of
water resources, and preparation and response to drought conditions in order that sufficient
water will be available at a reasonable cost to ensure public health, safety, and welfare;
further economic development; and protect the agricultural and natural resources of the
Brazos G Regional Water Planning Area.
The Brazos G Regional Water Planning Area includes 37 Counties: Bell, Bosque, Brazos,
Burleson, Callahan, Comanche, Coryell, Eastland, Erath, Falls, Fisher, Grimes, Hamilton,
Haskell, Hill, Hood, Johnson, Jones, Kent, Knox, Lampasas, Lee, Limestone, McLennan,
Milam, Nolan, Palo Pinto, Robertson, Shackelford, Somervell, Stephens, Stonewall, Taylor,
Throckmorton, Washington, Williamson (except the City of Austin water utilities service
area portion), Young (except the City of Olney portion as follows: a rectangular area with
the Northern boundary being the Archer -Young County line, the Southern boundary being a
line 4 miles South from and parallel to the Archer -Young County line; the Eastern boundary
being 4 miles East of the Eastern Olney city limits; and the Western boundary being 4 miles
West of the Western Olney city limits).
Among the factors to be considered by the Group in selecting nominees for these positions
are the nominees' representation of municipalities or water districts, the nominees'
willingness to serve, water knowledge, regional water planning experience, and
commitment to the regional water planning process. "Municipalities" encompass all those
governments of cities created or organized under the general home -rule, or special laws of
the State of Texas. "Water districts" are defined in accord with the Texas Water Code,
§36.001 as any district or authority created pursuant to the Texas Constitution, Article III,
§52, or Article XVI, §59 including those with authority to regulate the spacing of water wells,
the production from water wells or both, but not including river authorities.
