STLUKA, 1., Mayor City of Round Rock, Texas RECEIVED , NOTICE OF SOLICITATION OF NOMINATIONS FOR MEMBERS OF BRAZOS G REGIONAL WATER PLANNING GROUP REPRESENTING MUNICIPALITIES AND WATER DISTRICTS The Brazos G Regional Water Planning Group is soliciting nominations from the public for two voting members, one representing municipalities and one representing water districts. The purpose of the Brazos G Regional Water Planning Group is to provide comprehensive regional water planning and to carry out the related responsibilities placed on regional water planning groups by State law, including Texas Water Code Chapter 16 and Texas Water Development Board rules, including 31 Texas Administrative Code Chapters 355, 357, and 358, in and for the Brazos G Regional Water Planning Area. The regional water plan will provide for the orderly development, management, and conservation of water resources, and preparation and response to drought conditions in order that sufficient water will be available at a reasonable cost to ensure public health, safety, and welfare; further economic development; and protect the agricultural and natural resources of the Brazos G Regional Water Planning Area. The Brazos G Regional Water Planning Area includes 37 Counties: Bell, Bosque, Brazos, Burleson, Callahan, Comanche, Coryell, Eastland, Erath, Falls, Fisher, Grimes, Hamilton, Haskell, Hill, Hood, Johnson, Jones, Kent, Knox, Lampasas, Lee, Limestone, McLennan, Milam, Nolan, Palo Pinto, Robertson, Shackelford, Somervell, Stephens, Stonewall, Taylor, Throckmorton, Washington, Williamson (except the City of Austin water utilities service area portion), Young (except the City of Olney portion as follows: a rectangular area with the Northern boundary being the Archer -Young County line, the Southern boundary being a line 4 miles South from and parallel to the Archer -Young County line; the Eastern boundary being 4 miles East of the Eastern Olney city limits; and the Western boundary being 4 miles West of the Western Olney city limits). Among the factors to be considered by the Group in selecting nominees for these positions are the nominees' representation of municipalities or water districts, the nominees' willingness to serve, water knowledge, regional water planning experience, and commitment to the regional water planning process. "Municipalities" encompass all those governments of cities created or organized under the general home -rule, or special laws of the State of Texas. "Water districts" are defined in accord with the Texas Water Code, §36.001 as any district or authority created pursuant to the Texas Constitution, Article III, §52, or Article XVI, §59 including those with authority to regulate the spacing of water wells, the production from water wells or both, but not including river authorities.
