RESOLUTION NO. R- 00- 11- 21 -10B1
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department of Round Rock has
requested that East Main Street between North Mays Street and Sheppard
Street, be closed from 3:00 o'clock p.m. on December 8, 2000 until
12:01 o'clock a.m. on December 9, 2000 for Christmas Family Night, and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to grant such request, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That East Main Street between North Mays Street and Sheppard
Street, be closed from 3:00 o'clock p.m. on December 8, 2000 until
12:01 o'clock a.m. on December 9, 2000 for Christmas Family Night.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended, and the Act.

Cost: $0.00
Source: The event itself is funded through the General Fund and Sponsorships.
No funding is required for the road closing.
Outside Resources: For the event itself, various businesses and sponsors. None are required
for the road closing.
Impact: This event annually attracts 5,000 or more citizens.
Benefit: The City of Round Rock conducts this event annually as a public
"thank you" to the citizens of Round Rock.
Public Comment: All Main Street businesses have been contacted.
Sponsor: The City of Round Rock Parks and Recreation Department in
cooperation with service and civic organizations.

1. Requests should be made at least 30 days in advance of the closing to (1) allow sufficient time for
notifying other city departments and (2) ensure it is placed on a City Council agenda in a timely fashion.

pending road closure.
3. The requester should anticipate attending the City Council meeting at which the closure is considered to
answer any questions Council members might have.
