WHEREAS, the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs
has grant funds available through the Emergency Shelter Grants Program,
and
WHEREAS, grant funds are available for the Williamson County
Crisis Center to expand and renovate the shelter, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to approve the Emergency Shelter
Grants Program project application submitted to the Texas Department of
Housing and Community Affairs by the Williamson County Crisis Center,
Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City the attached Certification of Local Government
Approval of ESGP Application for Private Non - Profit Organization.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended, and the Act.

The Williamson County Crisis Center would like to request your endorsement of our grant to apply for
funding in the amount of $72,700 from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs.
The request includes fending to renovate oar shelter, located on Bowman Street and to expand the number
of beds that will allow us to house more clients. Additionally we will replace the roof and central heat and
air condition units.
Other funds will allow us to assist clients with rent and utilities and deposits to prevent homelessness and to
assist those who are homeless with housing in Williamson County. Essential service funds will help clients
with transportation, child cam, proscriptions, and other miscellaneous expenses.
In addition, we request your assistance in the final Environmental Review, required by TDHCA for
renovation grants. Alysba Girard, Public Works Department of Round Rock has already assisted us with
the preliminary review.
