R-01-12-06-13D1 - 12/6/2001STATE OF TEXAS THE COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NO. 3 TO CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES 'ORIGINAL' This Amendment to the Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and Baker - Aicklen & Assoc., Inc., hereinafter called the "Engineer ". WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, herein- after called the "Contract ", on the 13 day of November, 1997 and subsequent Supple- mental Agreements 1 and 2 conceming the extension of Greenlawn Boulevard from Louis Henna Boulevard to IH 35 and the advance project development for the Greenlawn Boulevard/IH 35 Interchange, and WHEREAS, ARTICLE 2, SCOPE OF SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED BY ENGINEER, describes those engineering services to be provided by the Engineer as a part of the Con- tract, and WHEREAS, ARTICLE 3, CONTRACT PERIOD, as amended in Supplemental Agree- ments 1 and 2, requires the termination of the Contract on August 31, 2000 unless the Contract is extended, and WHEREAS, ARTICLE 4, COMPENSATION, as amended in Supplemental Agreements 1 and 2, establishes the maximum lump sum payable under this Contract at $536, 889.52 without modification of the contract, and WHEREAS, it has become necessary to amend the contract to provide for a change in the scope of services to include the services of a sub - consultant for the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for the relocation of an exit ramp from IH 35, and WHEREAS, the increase in the scope of work will require the Contract Period to be ex- tended until January 31, 2002, and WHEREAS, the Engineer has agreed to perform the additional work for $62,126.66 in- creasing the lump sum fee for the contract to $599,016.18. NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract is amended as follows: ARTICLE 3, CONTRACT PERIOD shall amended by extending the termination date of the Contract to be the close of business on January 31, 2002. or ARTICLE 4, COMPENSATION shall be amended by changing the lump sum amount payable under this contract to $599,016.18. ATTACHMENT `B ", Services to be Provided by the Engineer shall be amended by the addition of the following items of work: By: The Engineer shall enlist the services of sub - consultant to develop and provide schematics, environmental documents, required public involvement, plans, specifications and estimates for the reconstruction of an exit ramp from IH 35. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Agreement No. 3 to the Contract for Engineering Services with Baker-Aicklen & Associates, Inc. for the Greenlawn Boulevard Extension Project. The agreement is for $62,126.66. Resource: Jim Nuse, Public Works Director Tom Word, Chief Traffic Engineer History: Supplemental Agreement No 2 was approved at the August 8, 1999 Council meeting by resolution # R- 99- 08- 12 -10D6. This agreement provided for the modifications required by the Texas Department of Transportation to the schematic and environmental documents for the interchange of Greenlawn Boulevard with IH 35. Supplemental Agreement No. 3 will extend the contract to January 31, 2002 and provide for a change in the scope of services to include the services of a sub - consultant for the preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for the relocation of an exit ramp from IH -35. This additional work will cost $62,126.66 and bring the total cost of the project to $599, 016.18.
