j` RESOLUTION NO. R- 01- 12- 06 -13D2 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously entered into an agreement for engineering services ( "Agreement ") with Alliance -Texas Engineering Company for the design of traffic signals, and WHEREAS, Alliance -Texas Engineering Company has submitted Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the Contract for Engineering Services to extend the contract date, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into said Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with Alliance -Texas Engineering Company, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the Contract for Engineering Services with Alliance -Texas Engineering Company to extend the contract date, a copy of said supplemental agreement being attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. STLUKA, ' R., Mayor City of Round Rock, Texas STATE OF TEXAS THE COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON § SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT NO. 1 TO CONTRACT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES This Amendment to the Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and Alliance -Texas Engineering Company, hereinafter called the "Engineer ". WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter called the "Contract ", on the 28 day of September, 2001 to provide professional traffic engineering services for traffic signal designs at the following four intersections: McNeil/Oakridge, McNeil /St. Williams: South Leg Only, Gattis School Road/High Country Boulevard, Gattis School Road/C.R. 122, and WHEREAS, ARTICLE 3, CONTRACT PERIOD, requires the termination of the Contract on November 30, 2001 unless the Contract is extended, and WHEREAS, the continued work will require the Contract Period to be extended until May 31, 2002, and NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract is amended as follows: ARTICLE 3, CONTRACT PERIOD shall amended by extending the termination date of the Contract to the close of business on May 31, 2002. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the Contract for Engineering Services with Alliance -Texas Engineering Company for the design of traffic signals. This Supplemental Agreement extends the contract period until May 31, 2002. The traffic signals are proposed for McNeil Road at Oakridge, McNeil Road at St. Williams, Gattis School Road at High Country Boulevard, and Gattis School Road at CR 122. Resource: Jim Nuse, Public Works Director Tom Word, Chief Traffic Engineer History: The original contract was approved at the September 28, 2000 council meeting by resolution # R- 00- 09- 28 -9C5. This contract provided for traffic signal designs at the following four intersections: McNeil/Oakridge, McNeil/St. Williams: South Leg Only, Gattis School Road/High Country Boulevard, Gattis School Road/C.R. 122. This contract will expire on November 30, 2001. Supplemental Agreement No. 1 will extend the time of the contract until close of business on May 31, 2002. Staff recommends approval.
