R-02-02-14-13C2 - 2/14/2002STATE OF TEXAS § THE COUNTY OF WILLIAMSON § This Amendment to the Contract for Engineering Services is made by and between the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter called the "City" and Huggins /Seiler & Associates, L,P., herein- after called the "Engineer ". WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter called the "Contract ", on the 8 of February 2001 to retain professional engineering services for planning, preliminary design, plan preparation, traffic simulation/modeling, and other associated tasks and services, and WHEREAS, ARTICLE 3, CONTRACT PERIOD, requires the termination of the Contract on January 25, 2002 unless the Contract is extended, and NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract is amended as follows: ARTICLE 3, CONTRACT PERIOD, shall amended by extending the termination date of the Contract to be the close of business on December 31, 2002. R- 02- 02- 14 -13C2 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously entered into a Contract for Engineering Services with Huggins /Seiler & Associates, L.P. for planning, preliminary design, plan preparation, traffic simulation /modeling, and other associated tasks and services, and WHEREAS, Huggins /Seiler & Associates, L.P. has submitted Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the Contract for Engineering Services to extend the contract date, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into said Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with Huggins /Seiler & Associates, L.P., Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the Contract for Engineering Services with Huggins /Seiler & Associates, L.P. to extend the contract date, a copy of said amendment being attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein for all purposes. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the Contract for Engineering Services with Huggins /Seiler & Associates, L.P. for planning, preliminary design, plan preparation, traffic simulation/modeling, and other associated tasks and services. Resource: Jim Nuse, Public Works Director Tom Word, Chief Traffic Engineer History: The City Council approved an engineering contract as Resolution No. R- 01 -02- 08-9C3 at its council meeting on February 8, 2002. The original contract expires January 25, 2002. The contract has been very useful in providing engineering assistance to the City, and staff would like to continue having this resource available by extending the contract by twelve months. No additional costs are associated with this time extension. Staff recommends extending the termination date to December 31, 2002.
