RE: Behrens Ranch, Phase A, Phase B, Section 1 and 2
Waterline Reimbursements
RJE Project #629,630,631
Dear Mr. Meredith,
The purpose of this letter is to provide you with information regarding reimbursements
from the City of Round Rock that you may be eligible for over sizing certain waterlines
within the above referenced project. Per the City of Round Rock's Development Code
and more specifically the Water and Wastewater Oversize Policy, "If a development is
required to oversize utility lines in excess of the developments direct needs, the
development will be given credit for the amount oversized." It is the opinion of Randall
Jones Engineering, Inc. that the 12" water lines located within Behrens Ranch Phase A,
and within Behrens Parkway that was constructed with Behrens Ranch Phase B Sections
1 and 2 were oversized beyond the needs of these individual developments. Typically an
8" would have been sufficient and adequate to serve the 47 single- family lots within
Phase A. The line within Phase A was required to be oversized by the City in order to
provide a future connection between the Wood Glen Development and the 30"
transmission line that traverses the westem boundary of the Behrens Ranch boundary.
Additionally the 12" line within Behrens Parkway serves multiple development
provides an additional connection to the 30" transmission main. Conseque ' both of
these lines were oversized in order to enhance the City of Round Roc ' ater
distribution system and to improve the systems reliability. Theref. , in accordance with
the City's policy you may request r .. . sement of $2.60 . er ' h diameter oversized
er linear foot . e installed For Phase A, ,964 feet of 12" ine was constructed, for
1, 506 feet of 12" was constructe•, and for(hase B. Section 2
me was cons ructed. The reimbursement calculation is $2.60 /inch -foot
Phase B, Section
1,580
feet o
12'
x 4" x 5,050 feet = $52,520.00.
As -Built plans are on file at the City of Round Rock for these projects that show the
water line location and sizing. These lines have been tested and accepted by the City of
Round Rock. Please let us know if you need any additional information regarding this
reimbursement request.
