R- 02- 04- 11 -16F 1 WHEREAS, the Round Rock Police Department, Old Town Elementary School, and Cactus Ranch Elementary School have requested that Woods Boulevard from its southern intersection with Cedar Bend Drive to Chaparral Drive, and Chaparral Drive to Old Town Elementary School be closed from 3:45 o'clock p.m. until 4:00 o'clock p.m. on April 12, 2002, for a bicycle parade to kick off the 2002 Spring Fling event, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to grant such request, Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That Woods Boulevard and Chaparral Drive be closed as set forth above. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution authorizing the closing of a portion of Woods Boulevard and Chaparral Drive on April 12, 2002 for a bicycle parade to kick off the 2002 Spring Fling event. Davis History: This is an annual event which allows residents of the Northeast part of Round Rock to meet police and firefighters and learn about the services available to residents. Last year, the event was called the Spring Hoe Down and featured demonstrations by the K -9 unit and various activities for school children.
