R- 02- 05- 23 -13A1 WHEREAS,in honor of Joanne Land's 32 years of service to the City of Round Rock, the City Council wishes to name a playscape at Old Settlers Park at Palm Valley, as shown on the attached Exhibit "A ", the Joanne Land Playground, Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That a playscape at Old Settlers Park at Palm Valley, as shown on the attached Exhibit "A ", is hereby named the Joanne Land Playground in honor of Joanne Land's 32 years of service to the City of Round Rock. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. Consider a resolution naming a playscape at Old Settlers Park at Palm Valley after Joanne Land. Resource: City Council History: The City Council has determined that it is appropriate to recognize Joanne Land's 32 years of service to the City of Round Rock by naming the Aten Loop cul -de- sac playground in honor of Joanne. Funding: Cost: TBA Source of funds: G.O. Bond Fund Outside Resources: All citizens of Round Rock Impact/Benefit: Some years from now one child will ask another "Who is Joanne Land ?" The answer will probably go like this... "I don't know but she must have been pretty important, she must have done lots of good things and she must have liked little kids "...and they will be right. Joanne will continue to serve as a "mentor" from afar. Public Comment: On April 30, 2002, Mayor Robert Stluka announced the Council's intent, to honor Joanne, before a group of Round Rock Citizens and neighbors.
