R- 02- 06- 13 -14G1 WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has previously entered into an agreement for engineering services ( "Agreement ") with Alliance -Texas Engineering Company for the design of traffic signals, and WHEREAS, Alliance -Texas Engineering Company has submitted Supplemental Agreement No. 2 to the Contract for Engineering Services to extend the contract date, and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to enter into said Supplemental Agreement No. 2 with Alliance -Texas Engineering Company, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City Supplemental Agreement No. 2 to the Contract for Engineering Services with Alliance -Texas Engineering Company to extend the contract date, a copy of said supplemental agreement being attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein. WHEREAS, the City and Engineer executed a Contract for Engineering Services, hereinafter called the "Contract ", on the 28 day of September, 2000 to provide professional traffic engineering services for traffic signal designs at the following four intersections: McNeil /Oakridge, McNeil/St. Williams: South Leg Only, Gattis School Road/High Country Boulevard, Gattis School Road/C.R. 122, and WHEREAS, ARTICLE 3, CONTRACT PERIOD, requires the termination of the Contract on November 30, 2001 unless the Contract is extended, and WHEREAS, the continued work will require the Contract Period to be extended until October 31, 2002, and NOW THEREFORE, premises considered, the City and the Engineer agree that said Contract is amended as follows: ARTICLE 3, CONTRACT PERIOD shall amended by extending the termination date of the Contract to the close of business on October 31, 2002. Resource: Jim Nuse, Public Works Director Tom Word, Chief Transportation Engineer History: The original contract was approved at the September 28, 2000 council meeting by resolution # R- 00- 09- 28 -9C5. This contract provided for traffic signal designs at the following four intersections: McNeil/Oakridge, McNeil/St. Williams: South Leg Only, Gattis School Road/High Country Boulevard, Gattis School Road/C.R. 122. This contract expired on November 30, 2001. Supplemental Agreement No. I was approved at the Council's regularly scheduled meeting on December 6, 2001 as R -01- 12 -06 -13D2 and extended the time of the contract until close of business on May 31, 2002. Due to negotiations with Union Pacific Railroad which required more time than was allowed in the last supplemental agreement, Supplemental Agreement No 2 will extend the contract until October 31, 2002 and allow Alliance Texas to complete the signal designs laid out in their original.
