Dear Mr. Hemenes:
TRINITY ENGINEERING /KLEINFELDER
An employ,. own,/ company
As a follow -up to our telephone conversation, I am requesting an increase in our Construction
Testing Budget for this project to cover consultations, job visits and testing costs that would not
be chargeable to Camp Excavation.
Our previously approved budget is $14473.00 and previous billings were $14,168.00, leaving a
remaining budget of $305.00. Since July 26, 2002, we have accumulated approximately
$1000.00 of unbilled charges for consultation and job visits. I am requesting an increase of
$2500.00 to a total budget of $16973.00. I would not expect to exceed this amount unless some
other unknown circumstance should occur. If you have any further thoughts on this, we would of
course welcome your input. Please feel free to call us at (512) 926 -6650. Please sign and return
one copy for our files.
Thank you very much. We appreciate working with you and the City of Round Rock on this
project and on future projects.
Sincerely,
TRINITY ENGINEERING/KLEINFELDER

History: A 1500 ft. section of the Old Settlers Park at Palm Valley Trail failed due to
expansive clay soils. The random core samples taken prior to the beginning of
the project did not identify this problem area. Extending this contract will
provide the additional geotech testing required to insure the prescribed sub -
grade and sub base compaction and paving meets the recommended standard
set.
Funding:
Cost: $2,500.00
Source of funds:
Outside Resources: Trinity Engineering/Kleinfelder
Impact/Benefit: Correcting the trail foundation will reduce the amount of maintenance
time spent on this section of trail and enhance the quality of the
product.
