R- 02- 11- 26 -10E1 WHEREAS, Assisting Texas with Housing, Inc., is the owner of Chisholm Trail Apartments, a low- income assisted housing apartment community located in the City of Round Rock, and WHEREAS, Assisting Texas with Housing, Inc. plans to submit an application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for financial assistance to rehabilitate Chisholm Trail Apartments, and WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock is in support of Assisting Texas with Housing, Inc. in making said application, Now Therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the City of Round Rock supports Assisting Texas with Housing, Inc. in making application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for financial assistance to rehabilitate Chisholm Trail Apartments. The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas Government Code, as amended. As owner of the property, this organization, Assisting Texas With Housing, Inc. (ATWH), a certified non- profit Community Housing Development Organization, is dedicated to the development, management, maintenance and preservation of affordable low- income housing opportunities for those who need it. ATWH is currently preparing an application to be submitted to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs HOME Program for financial assistance to rehabilitate the Chisholm Trail Property. The application is scheduled for submission on Monday, November 18, 2002. We are conducting a community meeting on the site, at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2002, to solicit tenant input and participation. Based upon our preliminary needs assessment I anticipate the work program to generally consist of the installation and/or upgrade of central heating and air conditioning systems, site -wide accessibility improvements, cabinet replacement and weatherization work items. Our budget request is projected to be approximately $250,000. This letter is to request a resolution in support of our application from the City Council of Round Rock.
