Chisholm Trail Apartments is a 50 unit low- income assisted housing apartment community that
has served many of the low - income population of Round Rock for over 20 years. As owner of
the property, this organization, Assisting Texas With Housing, Inc. (ATWH), a certified non-
profit Community Housing Development Organization, is dedicated to the development,
management, maintenance and preservation of affordable low- income housing opportunities for
those who need it.
ATWH is currently preparing an application to be submitted to the Texas Department of Housing
and Community Affairs HOME Program for financial assistance to rehabilitate the Chisholm
Trail Property. The application is scheduled for submission on Monday, November 18, 2002.
We are conducting a community meeting on the site, at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 2002,
to solicit tenant input and participation.
Based upon our preliminary needs assessment I anticipate the work program to generally consist
of the installation and/or upgrade of central heating and air conditioning systems, site -wide
accessibility improvements, cabinet replacement and weatherization work items. Our budget
request is projected to be approximately $250,000.
This letter is to request a resolution in support of our application from the City Council of
Round Rock.
Note: The City of Round Rock is under no obligation nor is it exposed to any liability by
supporting our application effort.
