WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has a need for the purchase of
playground equipment for the Lakeview Playground at Old Settlers at
Palm Valley Playground Improvement Project, and
WHEREAS, the City has entered into an Interlocal Participation
Agreement with the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative to
facilitate compliance with state bidding requirements, and
WHEREAS, the Texas Local Government Purchasing Cooperative has
contracted with Little Tykes Commercial Play Systems to provide
playground equipment to participating local governments, Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue
a purchase order to Little Tykes Commercial Play Systems for the
purchase of playground equipment for the Lakeview Playground at Old
Settlers at Palm Valley Playground Improvement Project.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended.

History: The Lakeview playground at Old Settlers Park at Palm Valley was identified in
the Parks and Recreation's Playground Replacement Program as the next
playground to be replaced following Kinningham Park.
Funding: $110,000.00
Cost: $66,132.96
Source of funds: Capital Project Fund / 2002 G.O. Bond

The project will update the playground to meet and/or exceed
current playground safety standards. In addition, this project will
double the size of the existing playground to meet its current use
