WHEREAS, §8.610(4) Code of Ordinances (1995 Edition) provides
for the reimbursement for the oversizing of water mains, and
WHEREAS, Wilshire /Hearthstone Venture I, L.P. and Pulte Homes of
Texas, L.P. have submitted a reimbursement request for the oversizing
of water mains associated with the Sonoma, Section 6 development, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to approve said reimbursement,
Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the City Council hereby approves of the reimbursement to
Wilshire /Hearthstone Venture I, L.P. and Pulte Homes of Texas, L.P. of
$3,411.20, which is the cost of oversizing water mains associated with
the Sonoma, Section 6 development.
The City Council hereby finds and declares that written notice of
the date, hour, place and subject of the meeting at which this
Resolution was adopted was posted and that such meeting was open to the
public as required by law at all times during which this Resolution and
the subject matter hereof were discussed, considered and formally acted
upon, all as required by the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551, Texas
Government Code, as amended.

The purpose of this letter is to provide you th information regarding reimbursements
from the City of Round Rock that you ma •e eligible for over sizing certain waterlines
within the above referenced project. Per e City of Round Rock's Development Code
and more specifically the Water and W. ewater Oversize Policy, "If a development is
required to oversize utility lines in ex' ess of the developments direct needs, the
development will be given credit for e amount oversized." It is the opinion of Randall
Jones Engineering, Inc. that the 12" water line located within Paradise Ridge Drive and
adjacent to Rusk Road and the 16" aterline within Forest Creek Drive at the intersection
of Rusk Road were oversized bey • nd the needs of this development. Typically an 8"
would have been sufficient and • - quate to serve the 96 single - family lots within thi t ° 4-

Hearthstone Venture I, L.P. and Pulte Homes of Texas, L.P. for
the cost of oversizing water mains associated with the
Sonoma, Section 6 development.

History: 112 feet of 16" water main was installed along Forest Creek Drive in
Sonoma Section 6. 104 feet of 12" water main was installed along Rusk
Road with Sonoma Section 6. These mains were installed in accordance
with the City's water master plan or to provide capacity for other
developments in the area. These 16" and 12" water mains were accepted
previously and the Sonoma Section 6 plat has been recorded.
Funding:
Cost: $3,411.20
Source of funds: Oversize account
Outside Resources: Randall Jones Engineering, Jadco Development, Wilshire/
Hearthstone I, L.P. and Pulte Homes of Texas, L.P.
Impact /Benefit: Minimal. To date, the City has received $133,200.00 in oversize
fees from Sonoma Sections 1, 2,3,4,5 and 6. Reimbursements of
$61,318.40 and $50,908.00 were made to Wilshire /Pulte on April
26, 2001 and September 27, 2001, respectively, for oversized
mains in Sonoma Sections 1, 2 and 3 and Sections 4 and 5.
Therefore, with the requested reimbursement included, a total of
$115,637.60 will be reimbursed for oversized mains installed with
the six subdivisions. Oversized mains installed provide available
capacity for other development in the same locale and minimize
the possibility of parallel mains having to be constructed in the
future.
