R-73-111 - 10/25/1973RESOLUTION NO. 111R A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF TEXAS, DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND WILDLIFE, FOR A PROPOSED PARK ACQUISITION AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT AND GIVING CERTAIN REQUIRED ASSURANCES, DESIGNATING A FISCAL OFFICER. WHEREAS, Public Law 88 -578 of the United States of America (Lanc and Water Conservation Fund Act) authorizes the State of Texas to make grants to units of local government to assist them in carrying out programs of outdoor recreation and to help preserve an adequate amount of rapidly diminishing open space land; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City of Round Rock, Texas, that there exists in this locality a need for a comprehensive program of public outdoor recreation; and WHEREAS, it is acknowledged that Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, or nationa: origin under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assista:.ce and that Executive Order 11063 prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, or national origin in sale, lease, or other disposition of residential property or in the use or occupancy thereof: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, that: Section 1 An application be filed with the State of Texas, Department of Parks and Wildlife, for an open space land acquisition grant under authority of applicable Federal law and State authority for one -half of the cost of the proposed project which cost is now estimated to be $ in an area or areas to be designated and specifically described In such application, and that the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute and file such application and to execute such contract or contracts as may be necessary for the grant applied for, and is further authorized and directed to provide such additional information and furnish such documents as may be required by appropriate agencies of the State of Texas and to act as the authorized representative of the City of Round Rock, Texas in the execution of the proposed project, and the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute requisitions for funds and to act as the authorized fiscal representative of the City of Round Rock, Texas, in the accomplishment of this proposed project.
