R-74-116 - 4/4/1974and ATTEST: Eliza th Looby, City Secr /tary RESOLUTION NO. 116R RESOLUTION WHEREAS, on July 4, 1976, this nation will celebrate its 200th birthday, WHEREAS, this event in time indicates the success of our democratic principle and the value of individual freedom, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Round Rock appointed a Bicentennial Committee to plan and propose Bicentennial activities for this City, and WHEREAS, the Bicentennial Committee did study, propose, and recommend a series of events, activities, and improvements, and WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council did receive, accept, and approve the Committee's recommendation, now THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, By the Mayor and City Council of the City of Round Rock to hereby create a permanent Bicentennial Committee and endorse the programs as proposed and ask each citizen of Round Rock to support the events, activities, and improvements as our recognition of this 200th birthday of this great nation and to pledge through these efforts the improvement of this Community, State and Nation.
