R-74-117 - 4/4/1974RESOLUTION NO. 117R RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONTINUATION OF POST- SECONDARY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM BY ROUND ROCK INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT AND CENTRAL TEXAS COLLEGE WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of this Council that a cooperative educational program is presently being conducted by Round Rock Independent -- School District and Central Texas College; and WHEREAS, the Council is keenly aware of the desirability and necessity for such a program to support the economic development of this City; and WHEREAS, the Council considers it incumbent upon itself to request the Board of Trustees of Round Rock Independent School District to continue to provide these services through the auspices of Central Texas College; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Round Rock hereby requests that the Board of Trustees of Round Rock Independent School District and the Board of Trustees of Central Texas College be notified of the request that these two institutions continue with the program cooperatively conducted by them during the 1973 -1974 school year to support the economic development of this community. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby lends its support to any effort of the two educational institutions named above to expand or enhance the program to better service the needs of the citizens of this City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes and di the City Manager to file a copy of this Resolution with the Commissioner of Higher Education, Coordinating Board, Texas College and University System; the Commissioner of Education, Texas Education Agency; the President of the Board of Trustees of Round Rock Independent School District; and the President of the Board of Trustees of Central Texas College. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council authorizes and directs the City Manager to take such other action as may be deemed appropriate to insure that this cooperative program between these two institutions continues.
