J f� „WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has substantial interest in present as well as future water supplies in Williamson County, and WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock is responsible for furnishing water to a large number of county residents, and WHEREAS, certain legislation has been proposed to create the Williamson County Water Authority to deal with the acquisition and distribution of future water supplies, and WHEREAS, the creation of such a water authority could provide additional options to the City for financing the acquisition, de- velopment and distribution of future water supplies, and WHEREAS, the Council wishes to propose certain amendments to the legislation as it presently stands, and WHEREAS, the Council wishes to voice its support for the legislation if the proposed amendments are adopted, now therefore BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, THAT The value of the proposed Williamson County Water Authority as a vehicle for financing water acquisition and distribution is recognized by the Council and the adoption of the proposed legis- lation creating said authority is supported, provided the following amendments to the legislation are adopted: 1. That the Authority only be authorized to sell water to existing municipalities or existing FHA financed water systems, 2. That municipalities be the only customers of the Authority with the right to resell water to other governmental entities, 3. That the City Manager of the City of Round Rock be con - sidered for appointment to the original Board of Directors of the Authority so that the Council will have a representative on the Board, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Secretary is directed to forward certified copies of this Resolution to Senator William S.
