R-79-212 - 5/24/1979THIS CONTRACT made and entered into this day of , by and between the City of Round Rock, Texas hereinafter referred to as "City "; and, the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, on behalf of Texas A &M University, hereinafter referred to as "TAMU ". WITNESSETH: CONTRACT CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS WHEREAS, the City desires to authorize the conducting of an urban planning intern program utilizing its facilities hereinafter described in Article 2 of this Contract; and WHEREAS, TAMU desires to carry out such program for the benefit of faculty and students of TAMU's Department of Urban and Regional Planning; NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the covenants and agreements herein- after set forth, it is agreed as follows: Article 1 - Consideration 1.1 TAMU shall, through appropriate faculty supervision, provide guidance to students of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in their pursuit of the academic experience described in Article .2 of this Contract. 1.2 The City shall compensate TAMU for expenses incurred on this intern program in accordance with the terms of Article 3 of this Contract. In no event shall the City's compensation exceed the fixed sum of nine thousand eight hundred dollars ($9,800.). Article 2 - Scope of Activities 2.1 TAMU Students designated by the Head of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning shall participate in this program in order to fulfill the re- quirements toward their degree. TAMU activities: Page 1 of 4 (a) Urban design plan forRound Rock's downtown area which will include the following elements: - Concept of a Design Plan for Downtown - Land Use and Density Plan - Rehabilitation and Historic Preservation Plan - Support Systems Plan, including plans for use of alleys, sidewalks and other pedestrian ways, parking - Concept of an esplanade within the right -of -way of Main Street - General Market Analysis of Space Use Demand - Policy Alternatives and Implementation (b) Reports All study elements will be reproduced in black and white off - set press and 75 copies provided to the City. Maps and other graphic material will be prepared at appropriate scales for the plan elements. 2.2 CITY As part of this intern program, the City shall provide the following: (1) Reproducible base map for land use documentation not smaller than 1" = 600'. (2) Aerial photos of Round Rock and adjacent areas, as available. (3) Topographic and geologic maps as available. (4) Traffic count data for streets. (5) Utility systems maps. (6) Storm drainage map of existing storm drainage system, if any; lo- cation of critical areas subject to periodic flooding. (7) Copies of pertinent city codes /ordinances and pertinent planning documents. (8) Staff support for data collection, surveys and implementation Article 3 - Reimbursement for Costs 3.1 Upon execution of this Contract and in consideration of the services here- under, the City shall reimburse TAMU for all reasonable costs incurred under the provisions of this Contract. In no event shall the reimbursement for said costs exceed the fixed sum of nine 'thousand eight hundred dollars ($9,800.00). Page 2 of 4 3.2 Payment to TAMU shall be made in four approximately equal consecutive monthly installments upon receipt of a duly executive invoice and progress report from TAMU. The first installment shall be due in 30 days from the date of this Contract. 3.3 TAMU shall not incur other costs for which reimbursement is to be claimed without written authorization from the City amending this Contract. 3.4 The following schedule indicates an approximate division of expenses relating to this agreement. TAMU reallocation of funds in this section from one budget item to another shall be at the exclusive discretion of TAMU. Article 5 - Supervision of Students Students participating in this project shall be supervised by Assoc. Professor J.H. Hinojosa, AICP. All communications concerning the aforementioned intern program shall be directed to the above named supervisor.
