The City of Round Rock much interested in operating a'
1980 Youth Conservation Corps Project.(YCC). Our two (2) previous
YCC Projects have been a "benefit not only to the youth employed,
but to all the Citizens of Round Rock:.- ,

,cordance with the RFP guidelines issued by your office. -It.is
understood that only complete proposals will be officially re-
viewed for possible funding by the Texas Department of Community

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Round Rock seeks to provide
for the recreation and leisure needs of the citizens of Round Rock, and
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock owns and administers numerous park
and recreation areas for the enjoyment of the citizens of Round Rock, and
WHEREAS, there exists a need for conservation work on some of the
public park and recreation areas, and
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock seeks to provide gainful employment
for 15 through 18 year old males and females from all social, economic,
ethnic and racial classifications to accomplish the needed conservation work
on the public park areas, and
WHEREAS, the Youth Conservation Corps Program is a program whereby
youth can by employed to accomplish the needed conservation work in the
public park and recreation areas, and
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has operated previous Youth Conser-
vation Corps Projects through the Texas Department of Community Affairs, and
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock wishes to make application for a 1980
Youth Conservation Corps Project,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IS RESOLVED that the Mayor is hereby authorizied
to sign a letter of transmittal regarding the application for a 1980 Youth
Conservation Corps Project.
