WHEREAS, there exists a need in the City of Round Rock for a child
day care facility for underprivileged families, and
WHEREAS, the Williamson- Burnet County Opportunities, Inc. proposes
to contract with the City to provide the necessary staff to operate such a
facility, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to enter into this contract with
Williamson Burnet County Opportunities, Inc.,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND
ROCK, TEXAS THAT
The Mayor of the City of Round Rock is hereby authorized and directed
to execute on behalf of the City, a contract with the Williamson- Burnet
County Opportunities, Inc., a copy of which is attached hereto as an

Serves an enrollment of 35 children, ages 3 to 5 years, whose mothers are
working or attending school and whose family income is within the guidelines
set by Department of Human Resources. A total of 68 children have been
served during this portion of the current contract year. (5 -1 -79 to 4- 30 -80)
Services:
To Children -
1. Care in a safe environment for 8 hours per day.
2. Nutrition - breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.
3. Education activities designed to meet developmental needs
4. Health Care - screening and follow -up for both medical and dental needs .
5. Special speech therapy services .
To parents -
1 . Child care while they work.
. 2. Social Services - referrals to community resources and some counseling.
3. Education through monthly parent group meetings.
Source of Funds:
Department of Human Resources (70% - 30% matching) t
City of Round Rock - provides match funds and supplements budget
U. S. Department of Agriculture through Dept. of Human Resources - Child
Care Food Services - Reimbursement for cost of food and preparation.

CONTRACT

between the City of Round Rock, Texas, hereinafter referred
to as "City" and Williamson- Burnet County Opportunities,
Inc., a non - profit Texas Corporation, hereinafter referred to
as the "Organization ":
WHEREAS, the City plans to provide a Child Development
Center for the underprivileged families of Round Rock, and
WHEREAS, the Organization desires to operate the Child
Development Center for the City;
NOW THEREFORE, It is agreed as follows:
The Organization agrees to provide the necessary
staff and to operate the Child Development Center
in Round Rock by providing day care and related
services to the children of low- income families of
Round Rock.
II.
The eligibility of the children to participate in
the program shall be determined by the Organization
according to the appropriate guidelines.
III.
The Organization agrees to °operate'the center from
7:30 o'clock A.M. to 4:00 o'clock P.M., Monday
IV.
The term of this Contract shall be a one year
period from May 1, 1980 to April 30, 1981.
V.
In consideration of the above services, City agrees
to pay Organization $a -1,3g5 payable in twelve
equal monthly installments, the first installment
being due on or before the tenth (10th) day of May,

1980, and a like installment being due on the same
day of each subsequent month, the last installment
being due on April 10, 1981. City also agrees to
provide minor, routine maintenance as may be deemed'
necessary by the City. Such maintenance shall in no
event include structural repairs or replacement
equipment. Organization agrees to provide its_own
utilities.
VI.

The Organization has attached a copy' of ,its pro-
posed budget to this Contract and any amendments to
this budget must be approved by the City Council.
VII.
The obligations and undertakings of each of the
parties to this agreement shall be performable at
Round Rock, Williamson County, Texas.
VIII.
If any term provision, covenant, or condition of
this agreement is held by a court of competent
jurisdiction to be invalid, void, or unenforceable,
the remainder of the provisions shall remain in
full force and effect and shall in no way be
affected, impaired, or invalidated.
IX.
This agreement shall be governed by and construed
in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas.
