Dear Mayor Tonn:

Re: Lake Georgetown Project
(Formerly North Fork Project)
Amendment No. 1 to
Engineering Contract
We would like to respectfully request approval of an amendment to
our Engineering Contract on the Lake Georgetown Project pertaining to
our hourly rate schedule. The hourly rate schedule is used to deter-
mine compensation to the engineer for special services not included in
the basic percentage charges. Such services are listed - 7 Paragraph D
of our Engineering Contract with the City of Round Rock and cover such
items as easement descriptions, construction staking, etc.
The hourly rate schedule of the 1977 C.I.P. Engineering Contract
was referenced to be used on the North Fork Project, for which our
services were retained on September 12, 1978. Due to the time schedule
in funding this project, we are using an hourly rate schedule on the
Lake Georgetown Project that is four (4) years old.
We have understandably experienced increases in our hourly rate
schedule over a period of four (4) years and are presently handling
several of the City of Round Rock projects based on our most recent
hourly rate schedule.
This request will substitute our most recent hourly rate schedule
for the 1977 hourly rate schedule to be used on the remainder of the
Lake Georgetown Project. No back charges will be made for this project
on other hourly work for which we have already been paid; only on
future billings. Of course, the total of Engineering Fees Budgeted for
the Lake Georgetown Project shall remain within the funds previously
budgeted for engineering. The "old" and "new" hourly rate schedules
are attached for your review.
If the City Council approves of this amendment, please sign in the
spaces provided below on the original and the attached copy and return
one to our office.
