(o(YR WHEREAS, the City of Austin and the City of Round Rock are participating in a Regional Sewer Study for the Brushy Creek Watershed; and WHEREAS, much of the watershed is in Austin's ETJ; and WHEREAS, the Brushy Creek crosses the Edward's Aquifer recharge zone before passing through Round Rock; and WHEREAS, Austin and Round Rock both advocate the orderly expansion of public utility systems and their accompanying growth; and WHEREAS, the area in Austin's ETJ is in the Round Rock fire service area, Round Rock school district, Round Rock postal service area and the Round Rock planning area; and WHEREAS, much of the Austin ETJ is coeterminus with Round Rock city limits and is, in most cases, 1/2 mile from the Round Rock city limits; and WHEREAS, Austin growth in this area will directly affect Round Rock NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS That the City Council of Round Rock requests that the City of Austin include the City of Round Rock in deliberations that would result in the creation of additional Municipal Utility Districts in the Brushy Creek Watershed and that any consent to MUD creation be tied to regionalization of sewer service.
