R-85-738 - 7/11/1985WHEREAS, Austin Community College has utilized the services of the Round
Rock Public Library in connection with their educational program; and
WHEREAS, the usage has increased to the level that it appears necessary
for Austin Community College to compensate the City for the services provided;
and
WHEREAS, the City and Austin Community College finds the service to be
beneficial to all concerned; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to execute a "Memorandum of
Understanding" between the City of Round Rock, Texas and Austin Community
College for the continuation of services by the City to Austin Community
College.

A.C.C. will provide:
Cooperation Between
Round Rock Public Library and Austin Community College
$1500.00 per annum to the Round Rock Public Library (RRPL) for use of
its space and personnel
Reimbursement of non - resident ACC student and faculty use charges at
$10.00 per annum to be prorated by semester, e.g., ACC will be billed
$3.00 for each student who receives a non - resident RRPL card each
semester
Materials:
Training:
- ACC will house no more than one set of Instructional Television
(ITV) videotapes for each course offered via ITV at ACC
- Materials to supplement ITV coursework may be placed in the RRPL
- ACC instructors may place ACC materials on reserve in the RRPL
Equipment:
"MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING"
Maintenance of ACC equipment will be performed by ACC, at ACC's
cost, when needed
Training of appropriate Round Rock Public Library staff on the
operation, use, and troubleshooting of all equipment will be provided
by ACC. Written point -of -use instructions for both the patron and the
Library staff will be prepared by ACC.
- 2 1/2" video cassette players
- 2 television sets
- 2 video carts
- 2 audio cassette players
- 8 headphones
- 4 AV cabinets
ALL equipment will be delivered and prepared for use by ACC.
By mutual agreement, more equipment may be placed at RRPL if usage
warrants.
ACC will provide storage cabinets to house all ITV tapes at RRPL.
RRPL will provide:
Access with full Library privileges of the RRPL to non — resident ACC
students and faculty on the issuance of a non — resident card
▪ Space for ACC ITV equipment and videotapes
Space for ACC Reserve Collection
Space for ACC book and AV materials catalog
• Access to the photocopy machine
Overhead costs including building maintenance, utilities, and security
Access to ACC ITV equipment, tapes, and reserve materials for ACC
students regardless of residence
▪ Preventive maintenance on video and audio equipment
Other:
Problems
Problems that arise out of use of equipment, scheduling, patron
identification, circulation of written materials, etc. should be handled by
the RRPL staff at the site. Should, in the judgment of the library staff
member(s), a problem require ACC interaction, an ACC designate in LRS Media
Services will be contacted. A log of all problems, including resolutions,
will be maintained by the RRPL and ACC.
Administration
The administration of this agreement will be the responsibility of the
ACC Director of Learning Resource Services and the Director of the Round
Rock Public Library or their designates.
The terms of this agreement will be reviewed annually but will continue in force
until changed or terminated.
Either party reserves the right to terminate this agreement upon not less than 90
days written notice for reasonable cause. The effective date of the termination
will however not be in the middle of a semester.
