R-87-1031 - 8/13/1987WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it would be beneficial
to the City to have certain improvements completed at the Wastewater
Treatment Plant; and
WHEREAS, Haynie Kallman & Gray, Inc., Consulting Engineers, have
submitted a letter agreement to conduct the engineering for said improvements;
and
WHEREAS, the Council desires to enter into said agreement with
Haynie Kallman & Gray, Inc.; NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS
That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on
behalf of the City an agreement for improvements at the Wastewater Treatment
Plant with Haynie Kallman & Gray, Inc., a copy of said agreement being
attached hereto and incorporated herein for all purposes.

Dear Jim:
As per our meeting with you last week concerning the above referenced
project, we are forwarding the following items per your request.
The Preliminary Engineering Report, of which two additional copies are
enclosed, utilized information for a particular manufacturer and model
of diffuser. This was utilized to demonstrate the cost savings
potential for that specific diffuser system as an example of technology
advancements in the wastewater industry.- In the design phase, we will
work closely with your staff to evaluate alternate- equipment
manufacturers to be included in the specifications to attain the best
possible situation in assuring competitive bids.
Based on our discussion of the work to be performed, the work effort
has been prioritized into two (2) projects.- Below is a breakdown of
the preliminary cost estimates involved with each project.

This second project would be designed and approval sought at a later
date. The project will not be designed and bid until wastewater flows
can be diverted to the regional facilities.
We are enclosing an Engineering Services Agreement for Project No. 1.
The Engineering Services Agreement is based on our -prior Engineering
Services Agreements with the City -of Round Rock with certain recent
modifications from our meeting this date that we had with you in your
office. Following City Council approval and your authorization, we
would be eager to begin work on the project immediately.
