WHEREAS,- Article 1066(C), Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,
authorized the governing body of any city, town or village
in Texas to call an election for the purpose of imposing
an additional one -half (1/2) of one percent (1 %) local sales
and use tax within such city, town or village; and
WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock held an election for
the purpose of determining if the citizens of Round Rock
desired to impose an additional one -half of one percent sales
and use tax on the 8th day of August, 1987; and
WHEREAS, at said election, there was a total of 295
votes cast for the proposition and 208 votes cast against
the proposition; and
WHEREAS, the proposition was approved by 87 votes;
Now Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND
ROCK, TEXAS,
That pursuant to the canvass of the election returns
on August 13, 1987 that the proposition favoring the imposition
of an additional one -half of one percent local sales and
use tax within the City of Round Rock, whereby the city ad
valorem taxes must be reduced in the amount of the additonal
sales tax was approved by a vote of 295 for and 208 against.
