R-87-946 - 1/22/1987and RESOLUTION NO. 946,R WHEREAS, the City Council of Round Rock, Texas, pursuant to the authority granted by Article 664 -7, Vernons Texas Civil Statutes, as amended, desires to participate in the purchasing program of the State Purchasing and General Services Commission, WHEREAS, the City Council is of the opinion that participation in this program will be beneficial to the taxpayers of this City through the anticipated savings to be realized, Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS That the Round Rock City Council does hereby request the State Purchasing and General Services Commission to include its stated need for Contract Class No. 070 (automobiles and pickup trucks) on the Commission's annual contracts for those items, whereby the City of Round Rock may be allowed to purchase those items from the annual contract in question; That the City Manager is hereby designated to act for the City Council in all matters relating to the program, including the designation of specific contracts in which the City Council desires to participate, and that the City Council will direct the decision of the City Manager; That the City of Round Rock will purchase from the contracts made except in emergencies; That the City of Round Rock will be responsible for payment directly to the vendor under each contract; and That the City of Round Rock will be responsible for the vendor's compliance with all conditions of delivery and quality of the purchased items. This is the same resolution as passed in previous years for all types of motor vehicles. We have, in the past, been able to receive a better bid price with the State control.
