DATE: October 25, 1988
SUBJECT: Council Agenda, October 27, 1988
ITEM: 11E. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor
to enter into a contract with the State of
Texas for Cooperative Vehicle Purchasing.
STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: Sam Huey
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the resolution.
This gives the City the option to participate with the State
of Texas in the cooperative bidding and purchasing of certain
commodities (see attachment). In the past the City has
purchased several Police Pursuit Vehicles, pickup trucks, dump
trucks and passenger vans in this program.
ECONOMIC IMPACT: This action does not obligate the City but
provides the opportunity to participate with the State
in the purchasing of vehicles, equipment and supplies.
If we elect to participate in this program we can expect
to receive the ecomonic benefit associated with the State's
purchasing of larger quantities.
