R-89-1237 - 2/9/1989WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has requested proposals for the design of the Chisholm Trail Fire Substation, and WHEREAS, Opus 3 has submitted the best proposal, and WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the proposal of Opus 3, Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS, That the proposal of Opus 3 is hereby accepted as the best proposal, and the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute on behalf of the City a contract with Opus 3 to design the Chisholm Trail Fire Substation. This project is for a fire sub station to be located at the intersection of Rawhide and Old West Drive in the Chisholm Trail Subdivision in Round Rock, Texas. The following is a scope of services OPUS 3, Architects is proposing to provide. ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES 1. Written Program - Meeting with Fire Chief to ascertain requirements for the new facility. Visit similar facilities in area with Fire Chief. Provide written program to city of final program documents. Present approved Preliminary Plans to City Council. 2. Preliminary Drawings: a.) b.) c.) Preliminary Site Plan with Building and Parking Preliminary Floor Plan Preliminary Exterior Elevations 3. Preliminary Probable Cost of Construction based on square foot costs. 4. Geotechnical investigation with pavement recommendations. 3. Schedule for completion. 4. Any special forms for correspondence, field reports, etc. We are able to start our services upon written acceptance of this proposal. We will bill the City on a monthly basis for services performed. In order to insure the orderly and continuous progress of the project, the Architect shall be compensated for his services and expenses within ten (10) days of the billings. For accounts past thirty (30) days the Architect may charge interest at the rate of one and one -half (1.5%) per month from the due date. The Owner shall reimburse the Architect for all expenses related to collections of compensation due the Architect. These expenses consist of, but are not limited to, Attorney's fees, court cost, lost time, etc. Work performed outside the scope of services outlined above will be billed out on an hourly basis at the following rates: Principal - $ 75.00 Architect - $ 60.00 Draftsman - $ 30.00 Clerical - $ 25.00 This proposal is based on the general terms and conditions of the standard AIA Document C141a - Standard Form of Agreement Between Architect and Engineer, 1977 Edition.
