WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock has duly advertised for bids for
the purchase of mowing equipment for the Parks and Recreation
Department, and
WHEREAS, Austin Ford Mower has submitted the lowest and best
bid, and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the bid of Austin
Ford Mower and to authorize the purchase of said mowing equipment,
Now Therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS,
That the bid of Austin Ford Mower is hereby accepted as the
lowest and best bid and the purchase of said mowing equipment is
hereby authorized.

We cannot be responsible for the operation of the flail mower if
mounted on a different brand tractor.
Also, we cannot be responsible for the operation of a different
brand flail mower if mounted on our tractor.

ITEM: 16F. Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to purchase mowing
equipment for the Parks & Recreation Department.
STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: RANDY GORDON
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Seven bid packets were distributed; however, only one bid
was received on May 2, 1989.
Staff recommends that the bid be awarded to A-Tex Equipment-
DBA, Austin Ford Tractor in the amount of $35,500.00
HISTORY: This was the second time that the mowing equipment was bid
in an effort to attract more bidders. Also, the overall
cutting width requirement was reduced to attract competitive
bids.
ECONOMIC IMPACT: The tractor mounted flail mower is within our estimated
budget.
