R-89-1279 - 5/11/1989WHEREAS, the City of Round Rock desires to install underground distribution facilities to provide electrical service to the baseball field complex located at Old Settler's Park at Palm Valley, and WHEREAS, TU Electric has agreed to provide said underground distribution facilities, Now Therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS That the Mayor is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City, an agreement with TU Electric to install underground distribution facilities to provide electrical service to the baseball field complex located at Old Settler's Park at Palm Valley, said agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A ". Manager City of Round Rock 221 East Main Street Round Rock, Texas 78664 Gentlemen: As you have requested, we will install underground distribution facilities rather than standard overhead distribution lines to provide electric service to your ball field complex with three (3) pad transformers located off County Road 113 at City Park, Round Rock, Texas. We will provide underground service for $10,050.00 which represents the excess cost of the type of facilities you have requested over the cost for facilities of standard design. Further, it is your responsibility to install underground service cable to the secondary terminal of our transformers. The underground service cables shall be limited to the maximum number for which our transformer is designed to connect. This price will not apply to any change in the original plans as submitted, and cannot be guaranteed later than 90 days from date. It is payable in full upon acceptance of this letter. If the above meets your understanding and approval, please indicate your acceptance by signing in the space provided below, and returning two (2) signed copies to us by May 12, 1989. STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: LARRY MADSEN STAFF RECOMMENDATION: ECONOMIC IMPACT: Staff recommends that the Mayor be authorized to enter into an agreement with TU Electric to provide underground distribution facilities to the ballfield complexes. The estimated cost is $10,050.00. This amount represents the difference in cost of providing underground service as opposed to overhead service. This is a budgeted item and funds are available.
