Consider a resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a contract for benches in the ballfield dugouts at the Old Settler's Park at Palm Valley. STAFF RESOURCE PERSON: LARRY MADSEN STAFF REC MMENDATI0NS: ECONOMIC IMPACT: Four bids were received and opened on September 13, 1989: J. F. Clark $4,498.00 Persenaire 5,706.00 Sturdisteel 7,920.00 Spectrum 8,910.00 Staff recommends that the bid be awarded to Persenaire Park and Playground Products, Inc., because the J. F. Clark bid did not meet the specifications: 1. The unit legs bolt to concrete instead of being embedded in concrete. 2. The unit does not have a one piece welded steel frame. The back is bolted to the bench by three aluminum supports. The Persenaire bid is within the budget and will require less maintenance.
