RESOLUTION NO. 1 /\
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Round Rock, Texas
wishes to encourage all registered voters in the City of Round Rock
to vote in city elections; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that holding a joint election
in cooperation with the Round Rock Independent School District would
be more convenient for voters eligible to vote in both the City and
School elections; and
WHEREAS, C.D. Fulkes Middle School and Round Rock High School
would be easily accessible to voters in the City of Round Rock; Now
Therefore
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROUND ROCK, TEXAS
That C.D. Fulkes Middle School and Round Rock High School are
hereby designated as the official polling places for all City elections
during the year 1990 and that the attached Election Order calling the
1990 City Officers Election is hereby approved.
RESOLVED this 8th day of March, 1990.

I, MIKE ROBINSON, in my capacity as Mayor of the City of Round
Rock, Texas, do hereby order that an election be held in said City
on the 5th day of May, 1990, for the purpose of electing the following
officials for said City: Mayor, Council, Place 1 and Council, Place 4.
The said election shall be held at the following places in said
City, and the following named persons are hereby appointed officers
for said election.
In all Election Precincts on the east side of IH35 that are
inside the City limits of Round Rock, the voting shall take place
at C.D. Fulkes Middle School in said City, with
as Presiding Judge, and said Presiding Judge shall appoint the
necessary alternate presiding judge and clerks to assist him /her
which shall not be less than two.
In all Election Precincts on the west side of I1135 that are
inside the City limits of Round Rock, the voting shall take place
at Round Rock High School in said City, with
as Presiding Judge, and said Presiding Judge shall appoint the
necessary alternate presiding judge and clerks to assist him /her
which shall not be less than two.
The polls at the designated polling place shall on said
election day be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Joanne Land is hereby appointed Clerk for absentee voting, and
shall appoint the necessary deputy clerks for absentee voting. The
absentee voting for the above designated election shall be held at
City Hall, 221 E. Main Street, within said City and said place of
absentee voting shall remain open for at least eight hours ,on each
day for absentee voting which is not a Saturday, a Sunday, or an
official State holiday, beginning on the 20th day and continuing
through the 4th day preceding the date of said election (April 16,
1990 through May 1, 1990). Said place of voting shall remain open
between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on each day for said
absentee voting.
Absentee voting shall also be held Saturday, April 21, 1990,
Sunday, April 22, 1990, Saturday, April 28, 1990 from the hours of
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the same location as regular absentee voting.
The above described place for absentee voting is also the absentee
clerk's mailing address to which ballot applications and ballots voted
by mail may be sent.
Absentee voting, both by personal appearance and by mail, shall
be by paper ballots and shall be canvassed by the Presiding Judge and
the duly appointed clerks at C.D. Fulkes Middle School.
That said election shall be held in accordance with the Election
Code of this State and only resident qualified voters of said City
shall be eligible to vote at said election.
Notice of said election will be given in accordance with the
terms and provisions of Article 4.05 of the Election Code and Article
29e and the City Secretary is hereby instructed to have said notice
posted and published in accordance with Articles 4.05 and 29e.
That immediately after said election is held, the officers
holding the same shall make returns of the result thereof to the
Mayor of this City as required by the Election Code of this State.
A copy of this order shall also serve as a writ of election
which shall be delivered to the Presiding Judges, for said election.

This resolution authorizes the official polling places for
the May 5, 1990 City Council election and sets forth the Election
Order. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Those
registered voters living on the east side of IH35 will vote at
C.D. Fulkes Middle School and those living on the west side of
IH35 will vote at Round Rock High School.
Absentee voting will begin April 16, 1990 and end May 1, 1990
with hours being 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at
City Hall. Additional absentee voting will be scheduled for
Saturday, April 21, 1990, Sunday, April 22, 1990, and Saturday,
April 28, 1990 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
